Art & Van Wezel Backstage Tours
Dates: First Tuesday of the month October through May at 10am.
Location: Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall
Tickets: $5.00
Tours of the Society art collection at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall are offered to the public on the first Tuesday of each month, October through May. Tour guides will walk you through the “gallery” of paintings and sculptures of Florida’s most renowned artists. The exhibit covers a wide range of media and styles of art dating from the 1930s to present. The Tour also allows you the rare opportunity to go behind the scenes of the Van Wezel for a look at the workings backstage. Tours begin at 10 am in the Main Lobby of the Van Wezel, tickets are $5 per person, and benefit both the Van Wezel and the Fine Arts Society of Sarasota. Tickets can be purchased at the Van Wezel Box Office or by calling the Charge Line at (941)953-3368.
It’s almost Valentine’s Day, a good time to show your affection for Selby Gardens at our ART-rageous fashion show and tea, heARTS & Flowers on Sunday, February 13, 3:00-5:00 p.m. Kenney DeCamp will introduce artists wearing wildly original works of fashionable art. George Mendez will provide the music and special guest is the ultra-creative Ray Peper.
There will be tablescape works of art and Milan Catering will serve a delightful tea menu.
